A transitional period is defined as the change from one state to another. Some of these transitional periods in life can be related to changes in career, relationships, friendships, living on your own for the first time, transitioning from adolescence to adulthood, parenthood, etc.
Transitional periods can be a frightening time in your life, as you may be entering into uncharted territory. Transitional periods can be good, bad, expected, or unexpected, and they can often lead to feelings of anxiousness and panic, depression, or even changes in your self-esteem. However with the proper navigational tools and support, the transitional period can become less intimidating. Even positive change can lead to feelings of distress, and learning distress tolerance will be a major focal point during our sessions.
It is important to understand that with life, comes transition, and that time doesn't always have to be a bad thing. Instead of being fearful and reactive to this time period, let's work together in being proactive and embracing the positive changes that can come with this transitional period in life.
At A Safe Space for You in PA and NJ, we work towards understanding your personal strengths and how every life transition doesn't have to be a negative challenge, but instead a positive challenge that allows us to grow and thrive in different areas of life.
